In short: Flo and Splash both predict periods and fertile days. Flo has a much larger expert library, a community and a free Anonymous Mode, and keeps its doctor report, Symptom Checker (not offered in the UK or EU) and expert courses in Premium. Where Flo is stronger
- A much larger library, which Flo says is written with 100+ external health experts.[6]
- Anonymous Mode, free for everyone, uses Oblivious HTTP so Flo says it cannot link your identity to your health data.[4]
- Basic Flo for Partners is free for all users, and Premium adds expert content for partners.[5]
- A Health Assistant chat in Premium, native iOS and Android apps, a Family plan that shares Premium with up to five people, and a community (Secret Chats).[6][3][2]
- In Mozilla’s July 2026 review of six period trackers, Flo scored 7 out of 10. Reports say it does not share health data with advertisers, analytics or marketing partners.[7][8]
Public record
We include this because privacy is the main reason people compare trackers. It is a dated summary of public sources, not a judgement about Flo today.
- In 2021 Flo settled US FTC allegations that it shared health data with third parties, and agreed to an order requiring consent before sharing.[9]
- In August 2025 a California jury found Meta liable for collecting data from Flo’s app without consent. Flo and Google had settled before the verdict.[10]
Questions people ask about Splash and Flo
Is Splash a good Flo alternative?
If you want the doctor report, symptom guide and full library without paying, and would rather not make an account, yes. If you want Flo’s bigger expert library, a community or a chat-style assistant, Flo may suit you better. Many people try both: Splash can import a Flo export.
What does Flo Premium include that Splash gives free?
According to Flo’s help centre, Premium includes cycle patterns, expert courses and articles, a Health Assistant, a Symptom Checker (not available in the UK or EU) and a doctor’s report on iOS. Splash includes its doctor report, symptom guide, insights and library free, with no Premium tier.
Can I move my data from Flo to Splash?
Yes. Splash can import a Flo data export on your device. Ask Flo for a copy of your data in JSON format, then choose the file in Splash. It is read on your phone and is not uploaded to us. Flo can take a few days to send the file.
Is Flo safe to use?
Flo offers a free Anonymous Mode and has changed its practices since its 2021 FTC settlement. Mozilla’s July 2026 review scored it 7 out of 10 and reported no health data shared with advertisers or analytics partners. Read its privacy policy and decide what you are comfortable with. Splash works differently: with no account, nothing about your cycle reaches us.
