This Cookie Policy explains how WhealBit (“Splash”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website and in the Splash app. It is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (“PECR”) and, where personal data is involved, the UK GDPR. Read it with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies include local storage, IndexedDB, pixels and SDKs. PECR applies whenever information is stored on, or read from, your device, and requires consent unless the storage is strictly necessary for a service you asked for.

2. This website: none

  • Sets no cookies, first-party or third-party.
  • Uses no local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
  • Runs no analytics, tracking pixels or session recording, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds.
  • The free calculators run in your browser. What you type isn’t sent anywhere.

Because nothing is stored on your device, there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner. If we ever add something optional, it will be off until you choose, and we will update this page and the changelog first.

3. The Splash app

StoragePurposeTypeHow long
Local storage and IndexedDBHolding your own entries, settings, PIN hash and keys on your device: this is where your cycle livesStrictly necessaryUntil you delete them or clear the app’s data
Sign-in session (optional account only)Keeping you signed in for encrypted syncStrictly necessaryUntil you sign out or delete your account
Service worker cacheLetting the app open and work offlineStrictly necessaryUntil the app updates or you clear it

The app sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

4. Third-party requests

The app may load some rarer emoji images from Google (fonts.gstatic.com) and, only if you turn on the natural read-aloud voice, a voice model from Hugging Face. These are requests for files, not cookies we set, but they reveal your IP address to those companies. See Sub-processors.

5. Your choices

You can clear site data at any time in your browser settings. For the app, that deletes your data on that device, so export a backup first.

6. Changes

We will update this page, with a new date, before any change to how we use device storage.
